Gary Masamori
Landscape Design

With over 30 years of experience in the landscape industry, Gary Masamori learned the trade from the ground up. His father, Frank Masamori, was also a landscape contractor in Santa Cruz county for over 40 years. Since the age of 12, Gary spent every summer and countless weekends expanding his knowledge and experience in landscaping.

After graduating from the University of California in 1972, Gary became a contractor and began managing the family landscaping business. He and partner Regan Barry started Coastal Evergreen Company in 1973.

Gary ventured into landscape design in 1976, with the launch of Gary Masamori Landscape Design. Today, Gary works in all areas of landscape design, taking on a wide range of projects from small to large.

Believing that every project should contribute something to the community, Gary Masamori Landscape Design has donated many hours of work to renovation projects, including: Westlake School, Holy Cross School, Aptos High School, Santa Cruz High School, Harbor High School, The Mission at Santa Cruz, and Hospice of Santa Cruz.
